*4th of July*

Photobucket

This weekend we were lucky enough to head to Mikey's parents' lake house to celebrate the 4th. The house is on Lake Hartwell in SC, and they have an adorable little house, dock, and porch on the water, and a fast boat to go with it!

Counting ourselves, there were 17 total people there, and 8 dogs (which is a relatively low dog-to-human ratio)

We engaged in many watersports - skiing, wakeboarding, slalom skiing, wakeskating, etc. Now, when I say "we," I do mean "they." Here's my bragging for the day weekend: I skied for the first time ever! It took 5 tries, but then I got up and went for a good two minutes or so before falling. I won't say it was pretty, graceful, or athletic in the least, but I faced my fears and did it! Tony also wakeboarded for the first time and got up on the first try! Mikey and Kacy did awesome at everything they did, as usual!

If you want to feel better about yourself, check out these videos of me falling a bunch... the last one is the "success"

One day we headed to Lake Jocasse, which is absolutely beautiful! It's a huge lake, but with only 5 houses on it - the rest is perfectly untouched. I took a zillion landscape pictures, but of course none of them could really capture the beauty...

We had a fabulous time, and it was great to get some much-needed sun on our pale bodies in preparation for the beach next week!

  1. Looks like you had a great time. You must have a big boat! I am jealous that you have your rope line so high- ours is down by the motor. Good job getting up- that is the hardest part.

  2. they have a big boat, not me!! they do a lot of wakeboarding and such, so they have a tower on the boat that holds the rope higher. :)
