Baby #2!

Well, if you don't follow me on Instagram or we aren't Facebook friends, then this is new news for you! Tony and I are very excited to be welcoming baby #2 around August 19th! Harper is totally psyched (yeah she has no idea... But she sure is cute in these pictures!)

Harper will have just turned two when this little one comes, so we are terrified excited for them to be the best of friends!  Thank you all for your past sweet comments and well wishes on my other posts about this!  We are surrounded by love, certainly.

This poor blog has been negelected in the wasteland that is the first trimester (and then some) for me. When it came to blogging (or doing something blog worthy) or napping - I clearly chose napping. Thank goodness no one is expecting me to churn out projects or posts.

I hate to complain (don't ask for confirmation on that to Tony - he will vehemently deny it), but oh goodness. Last time I had pretty terrible and constant nausea for at least the first 20 weeks.  This time I have the exact same thing - but with a toddler on hand. You might be surprised to learn that toddlers are very unsympathetic to early pregnancy symptoms. Who would have thought??  I just have really strong smell aversions to food like meat, veggies, and most things cooking. Oh and our refrigerator. I cannot open it without gagging. There's not much in it, but it has the most repulsive old ice cube smell (that no one else can smell). Tony calls it the wolf senses. Being a wolf is the worst. I've joked that my baby is swimming in a mix of high fructose corn syrup and soy lecithin.  I guess that's better than malnourished, right?  Ugh.  Although I must say, I have friends who have had it much worse, with more kids at home, so I'm trying to be grateful and optimistic it will pass shortly (ha ha ha).

And Tony -- can I be sappy and annoying and just say that he has been amazing. He's made Harper's meals when I just couldn't, he hasn't cooked meat in our house for months (he will crockpot outside when he gets desperate), he has taken Harper out when I just needed a nap, etc. etc.  Amazing.

Anyway, on to the fun stuff! We find out this weekend if this little baby is a he or she, which is so fun! We did an elective ultrasound with Harper, thanks to a generous gift card, and for a planner like me, I loved finding out about a month earlier than I otherwise would. This time around, my parents generously sent money to us for one because they are so anxious to hear what this baby is! Crossing my fingers we get an answer!

We have a three bedroom house, so this new baby means some things will get rearranged. Our third bedroom currently functions as a guest room and office.  We could combo the room, but we have guests so infrequently that I would rather it be a fully dedicated nursery.  But I also want a desk to work at, so stay tuned for what we are finagling for that!

So, hooray, Baby #2!

  1. EEEEEE!!!! I'm so glad you blogged!!! Congratulations!!!
I'm so sorry that you've turned into a wolf. That is an unfortunate pregnancy side effect. ;) At least you're a beautiful wolf and you're keeping that bitty baby safe from gross old ice cubes. ;) I hope your nose calms down soon!!!
I'm so excited for you!!!! :):):)

  2. Congrats congrats! I am totally sympathetic to the perils of being pregnant with a toddler in tow! But you're probably close to being done with that part soon, so yay! Also, two babies in a three bedroom house is totally do-able. We gave up our office for a nursery for T-Rex, and now we just have a desk set up in an unused corner of the dining room. We don't miss it so much (also since we have gotten better about doing work while children are underfoot and what not). Can't wait to hear if it's a boy or a girl, and keep us updated on everything baby! YAYAYAYAY!

  3. So excited for you!!!! And a little jealous- ha! Although I am SO not looking forward to the morning sickness- I know exactly what you're going through and I know it's the pits. I can't imagine it with a toddler, but I bet it's a million times harder. Hopefully it goes away quickly- and I'm looking forward to finding out what baby is!! :)
