Lyla Elaine was born on Thursday, April 14th at 6:48pm. She was 7 lbs 8 ounces, and 20 inches long. And I love her to pieces. That pretty much sums it up!
My sister Courtney went through a pretty easy day (easy for me to say, right?) and was progressing along nicely, until Lyla decided she wanted to lay crooked and get all flustered with each contraction. Thus, c-section ensued.
(I call this one my baby-snatching face..)
There were quite a few doting family members ready to get their turn holding that babybundle [hey! that's MY hobby!]
Luckily Tony and I were able to stay in Knoxville for a few days and got in lots of holdage. Maybe even some head kissing, cheek rubbing, and toe wiggling thrown in there too... maybe.
I was sad to drag myself away. It will be a month before I see her again, and I know she will be so different!! But I can't wait til she starts smiling, interacting, talking, walking, texting, etc. :)
I'm so proud of Court and Byron (he's already a natural!). She will be (and already is) such a loving mom, and I can't wait to see how she blossoms into this new role in her life. My favorite was coming into their hospital room and seeing Lyla laying on her momma's chest, with the most contented look on both of their faces.... can't beat that.
